CharmVerse is a DAO management tool that currently integrates the main governance processes of DAOs, such as proposals, forums, voting, and bounty functions. Its biggest feature is that the interaction and interface are exactly the same as Notion.
Because the community I created, CryptoChasers, is planning a new important proposal, I have researched a lot of DAO processes and tools. In a previous article, I discovered this integrated DAO tool called DAO Manager, but in actual use, I found that it has inflexible permissions and the community development discussions are not very active.
The first time I discovered that CharmVerse was being used by Farcaster's purpleDAO, further research revealed that it is a direct competitor to DAO Manager. Both have received millions of dollars in seed funding, so I conducted a test.
The advantages of CharmVerse are that it provides default governance processes, the documentation is similar to Notion and easy to use, and the permission settings are reasonable. Currently, it only has four core functions: proposals, forums, documents, and bounties.
DAO Manager provides almost all the functions for managing DAOs and also integrates AI editing, such as discussions, tasks, points, payments, courses, etc. It is comprehensive and has a more modern interface design. However, in actual use, it does not conform to the processes of DAOs and has significant issues with permissions.
In summary, if a mature community needs to introduce DAO mechanisms, it is recommended to use CharmVerse. If a small team needs to launch a new project, DAO Manager can be considered.
Our community belongs to the former, so we have chosen CharmVerse as our governance tool. The four main functions, proposals, forums, documents, and bounties, are all useful for us. Task management can be done using DeWork, and for courses, we are considering deschool or bitdegree, which should cover all the needs of community development.
